You've Got It Together
You've got it together. Your whole life is
ahead of you. You can hardly wait to . . .
- Start your new job
- Go look for a place of your own
- Meet the man of your dreams
- Buy that cute dress
So often these are the feelings you have as you
launch your adult life, but soon self-doubt seeps in as you . . .
- Realize you don't have passion for your job
- Can't afford the place where you want to
live
- Broke up with your boyfriend
- Never like the way you look
Is this how it is? After all that hype, why is
it so hard? By now you were supposed to:
- Know what you want to do and have the job to
show for it
- Have enough money to buy the things you
always desired
- Be in a serious relationship
- Be sexy and cute and smart and have designer
clothes.
You realize you've been under tremendous
pressure. No wonder you've felt so down in the dumps. How could anyone do all
those things you thought you were supposed to do? But the pressure is insidious
and invisible. You don't even know it's there. It just keeps you moving forward,
faster and faster. You never thought you were one who would "follow the rules."
You've always been your own person, following your own path. How did it happen
that you got caught in this undertow?
Who Cares What You're Supposed to Do?
helps you break free from the trap of "following the rules." It shows you how
easily we all get pulled in by societal expectations to accomplish certain goals
in our twenties and early thirties.
Life is full of surprises and uncertainties.
Once you get free of thinking you should have it all figured out by some magic
age, you can create your own rules, and pick and choose how you want to live
your life.
